It some digging but we know have our Final Four and Sweet 16(20) in Class 3 Girls 👧 Basketball 🏀

The missing piece that was hiding a bit was the final score from the #2-#10 contest last night which ended as expected with Lord Botetourt defeating Abingdon 68-32.

Our bracket held serve and now on Thursday night we will have a #1/#4 & #2/#3 Regional Semifinal.

Carroll County will host Magna Vista while the other Cavaliers (Lord Botetourt) will be hosting Cave Springs. Both winners will advance to the eight team State Tournament with the Saturday Championship game dictating the seeds for the Ellte Eight.

Another quarter of the Sweet 16 Pie 🥧 also held serve.

Brentsville became the first team to punch its ticket 🎟 to the Elite Eight with its victory at Culpepper.

Some familiar names in another bracket that had the Top Four advance. Carroll County played both the #1 & #2 teams at neutral sites during the regular season. Three of the four brackets are set and each contains a Chalk semifinals.

In Region A they are still waiting on the Quarterfinals results but all four Top Seeds are alive as well.

Those contests are set to be played tonight, meaning that for the rest of the Day its the Sweet 20 but that just doesn’t have the same ring to it.

Checking in with our Friends from Spotswood, Trailblazers cruise 66-21 past Wilson Memorial

Coach Dodson and his team sailed into their Semi-finals tonight with a convincing win at home 🏡.

The Trailblazers are set to face Liberty (Bedford) on Thursday night 🌙. Everyone from both schools would welcome another Post Season contest between a pair of Legendary Coaches in Mark Motley and Chris Dodson! Just a few games away now.

The Bracket up North is holding serve and there should be two solid ball games on Thursday night.

Magna Vista vs Carroll County Take 2 on Thursday night 🌙 for spot in the Regional Finals

More often than not when you head into Regional play you become dependent on scouting reports on your next opponent but that won’t be the case for the Lady Cavaliers when they host Magna Vista on Thursday night.

Turn back the Calender to December 17th and you will find where Carroll County defeated Magna Vista 56-19. MVHS went on to post an impressive 22-5 mark, including a spotless 16-0 mark in their District.

There are no guarantees in Basketball but at least we know that Coach Mark Motley and his staff will be up to speed on their next opponent!

#1, #5, #6 and #15 in the State remain alive in Region 3D
