Cavaliers Boys Basketball: Inside Look at the #7/10 match up

Carroll County Boys basketball πŸ€ will begin their chase for post season success this Friday night at 6pm, hosting #10 seeded Hidden Valley.

The Titans finished 4-8 in the River Ridge District and 5-17 overall in the regular season. While sometimes a post season match up doesn’t allow much in the way of common opponents, this one gives us a 7 game look inside the numbers.they did both play seven games against the trio of Pulaski County, Blacksburg and Glenvar.

The Cavaliers went 5-2 over those seven games but Hidden Valley accounted for 60% of its win total on the season in going 3-4 versus the group.

_______________________________

Pulaski County – Huge advantage here for the Cavaliers as they swept PCHS 3-0 with victories by 21, 7 and 15 points.

The Titans fell twice by margins of 6 & 10 points.

___________________________

vs. Blacksburg HS

Carroll County swept the Bruins with both games playing to the end before the Cavaliers prevailed by 7 points each time.

Hidden Valley also swept the Bruins, winning by 12 at home and 9 on the road.

Vs. Glenvar –

Carroll County fell short both times against the Highlanders but had chances late in the game. The final margins were four and five points.

Hidden Valley – The Titans managed a split with the Glenvar Five, falling by 13 on the road but later winning by 8 at home.

CCHS finished 3-7 in the Three Rivers District and 16-8 overall. Quick math has the Cavaliers going 13-1 outside of the league.

Please don’t let the overall record of the Titans lull you into a false sense of the contest that awaits our Cavaliers. The team will need to perform at a High Level to advance and that’s easier to do when the crowd in the Home Gym is also performing at a high level!

Here’s to an electric atmosphere on Friday that will lead to a road trip over to #2 seed Tunstall on Tuesday night πŸŒ™.
