Saturday morning in Christiansburg with our Wrestling team

Later today Head Coach Branson Bowman will make the trek from Hillsville to Christiansburg High School for the Region Wrestling tournament.

Coach will be bringing seven wrestlers to the meet, down from nine after losing one to illness and one to injury this week.

Bowman made a name for himself on the Wrestling mat when he was at Carroll County High School and is wrapping up his first season at the helm of the Cavaliers.

Doors open at 9:15 am and the matches will begin at 10:00 am on three mats inside the CHS gym.

Admission is $8.00 and Coach has offered me a back stage pass if you will starting just past 8am when the team is due to arrive. Looking forward to covering our Wrestlers here in a few hours.

Summer and fellow dedicated folks created an Amazing 👏 Night 🌙 for so many !

The Lady on the right is Summer and the Gentleman on her left is her husband. I was able to spend 5 hours around them tonight at the Night to Shine event and the experience was every bit as moving as I had hoped it would be.

Summer’s story is one that belongs under a spotlight and I hope that I can share it with folks one day soon. Besides being Amazing 👏, Summer also shares a similar sense of humor that I have.

When I asked her what was the breakdown of the credit for this enormous undertaking between her and her husband she responded with ” I get full credit and he gets all the credit for putting up with me throughout the process.”
