Girls Varsity Standings form a perfect stair case at the Midway point

Using the six Max Preps sites here are the Varsity standings after play on Wednesday night.

Carroll County 5-0. 14-1

Floyd County 4-1 11-4

Glenvar 3-2. 9-6

Alleghany 2-3. 9-5

James River. 1-4. 9-5

Radford 0-5 3-11

It will be interesting to see if the stair case stays in place or if someone in the standings can reach up to pull off an upset.

It will be #1 Carroll County at #3 Glenvar on Friday night.

Thursday Night 🌙 belongs to Boys Basketball 🏀

Carroll County Boys Basketball will play host to Fort Chiswell tonight with the JV game set to tip at 5:30 and the Varsity set to follow at 7:00pm.

The two teams met back in mid-December with the Cavaliers finding success on the road and they will look to duplicate it as they continue with a four games in five days stretch.

All four of the Hoops teams will take to the Highway Friday night when they travel to Salem to face the Highlanders of Glenvar in District action.

Tonight the Boys stand alone on the Cavaliers stage so all fans are welcome to join the fun at 5:30

Every now and then a Photo 📷 works out just right !

For over four decades of watching and covering Basketball 🏀 games at all levels I always try my best to capture the Opening Jump Ball.

Sadly, it seldom works out just like you hope but Tuesday night in the Girls Varsity game vs. Floyd County the pic just worked ! Very fitting as the young Lady jumping for the Cavaliers would go on to surpass the 1,000 point mark in the 3rd quarter of play.

Congratulations to Alyssa Ervin once again and your Cavaliers will return to action Friday night at Glenvar High School.

CCHS swim 🏊‍♂️ teams head to Hollins College for meet with Jefferson Forrest and host Northside Vikings

Both the Boys and Girls swim teams were in action on Wednesday night in Roanoke. The Cavaliers were competing with Jefferson Forrest and Northside and there is hope in uncovering the results from their efforts. Stay Tuned

All photos of any Cavaliers in action are always welcome and as always the pictures posted are free of charge if you find one you like.

Greetings from the Wrestling Room at Grayson County High School

Carroll County travels West for a tri- meet with Galax and the host Blue Devils. Coach Bronson Bowman and his squad will open the action facing Grayson at 6pm

The goal tonight will be to catch as many of these student athletes in action and later have Coach give his thoughts on his team and their efforts.

Currently wrestling at 190 with 215 and Heavyweight to follow.

6:35 pm – Opening Match with Grayson County is complete and after a short break the Cavaliers will take on Galax High School.

No pre-match introductions with Grayson County not competing. This struck me as rather odd being that I can’t imagine a School basketball team only announcing their starting players and omitting the visitors. But I should add that I don’t have a great deal of experience with Tri-meets so maybe it’s the norm.

I had the opportunity to introduce myself to the Coach after the conclusion of the matches and look forward to working with him going forward !
