Lauren Alley had a double-double, 11 points, 10 rebounds.

Alley ended the third quarter with 3-ball from the top of the key and opened the scoring in the fourth with a basket. The five point run came after the Hornets had pulled within 6 points after a flurry of their own.

The Cavaliers came up clutch from the free throw line late, going 5 of 6 down the stretch.

The trip down to High Point offered the Lady Cavs a great opportunity to compete against a level of interior defense that might not come up again until the team enters the post season.

Each sports season you can only hope that there might be sone separation between the trip to James River and the trip to Alleghany. Both of these treks take a great deal out of a day of the week for both the Student Athletes and their fan bases.

This Tuesday all four of the Basketball 🏀 teams will make the Loop up to Buchanan for District games – play starting at 5:30 in both gyms.

On Friday evening the Boys teams will head over to Alleghany High School 🏫 while the Girls teams will stay at home to host the Mountaineers.
