JV Basketball 🏀 @ Ft.Chiswell (Live)

4:00 pm – Game underway

Pioneers lead 5-1 after the opening six minutes.

CCHS fell behind 5-0 inside the first three minutes but settled down on the defensive end and found its stride offensively.

Isaiah Easter and Jay Burnette poured in 5 and 6 points respectively in the second quarter, allowing the Cavaliers to take a 15-14 lead into the locker room. FCHS reached double figures in fouls midway through the second and could run into foul trouble late in the game.

Six minute quarters and eight minutes for half will have this game over very quickly.

Hayden Jackson drained the Cavaliers first 3-pointer of the contest and Easter added two baskets in the 3rd as CCHS stretched its lead to 25-22 after the quarter. Six more minutes to play

The Cavaliers turned up the defense in the final quarter, holding the Pioneers to just one made field goal while capturing the period 14-2.

CCHS closed out the scoring by draining 9 of 10 free throws in the closing minutes to win the contest 39-24. Easter finished with 15 points while Jackson added 9 and Burnette 8 more.

After the slow start the Cavaliers outscored Fort Chiswell 39-19 with the defense setting up the offense.
