On the Road with the CCHS Cavaliers

Thursday night πŸŒ™ football has the Junior Varsity team heading North to Roanoke County for a contest with the Glenvar Highlanders at 6pm and we will be alongside with the Cavilers.

Glenvar scored first and took an 8-0 lead into the second quarter before the Cavs strung together some first downs on their initial possession of the quarter. The Highlanders finally stopped the drive just shy of midfield and set up shop at the Cavs 33 after a punt attempt was muffed.

Glenvar scored two plays later to stretch the lead to 14-0 but the Cavs defense stiffened to stop the 2-point conversion.

Following the turnover the home team covered 96 yards on their drive to stretch the lead to 20-0 midway through the third period.

Glenvar has started to pull away with the lead now 32-0. Carroll County continues to show plenty of effort on both sides of the ball but will come up on the short end of the scoreboard tonight.

Carroll County will have one more offensive possession with the hopes of getting on the scoreboard after Glenvar scores a sixth touchdown. The clock ⏰ strikes 0:00 just before 8pm with 40-0 being your final score.

CCHS kept it close until midway through the third quarter and played with plenty of heart but came up short in the end. The same two schools square off tomorrow in Hillsville for the Varsity contest.
