


The Junior Varsity match started just after 6pm and the Lady Cavaliers wasted little time in getting the jump on the visiting Bobcats.


After their last two matches took them Southbound on I-81, the Lady Cavaliers returned to the confines of their gym in Hillsville for a contest with Glenvar.
The Highlanders captured Game 1 in front of the animated crowd and we pick up the action midway through Game 2 with the visitors once again leading 13-12.
Game 2 would prove to be the highlight of the match as the two teams exchanged kills and digs throughout regulation and into overtime. The Highlanders would eventually capture the contest, 27-25


. Glenvar surged to a 4-0 lead in Game 3 but the Cavs were answer back with their most impressive run of the night 🌙. The 11-3 spurt erased the deficit and gave CCHS its largest lead of the night at 11-7. Glenvar responded with a 7-0 run of its own and the sweep was all but complete.


. The final score in Game 3 was 25-17 as the Cavs battled all the way to Match Point before falling at home for the first time this season.
The Lady Cavaliers return to action Thursday night with another home match as Radford makes the trek to Hillsville.

Thursday night 🌙 football has the Junior Varsity team heading North to Roanoke County for a contest with the Glenvar Highlanders at 6pm and we will be alongside with the Cavilers.
Glenvar scored first and took an 8-0 lead into the second quarter before the Cavs strung together some first downs on their initial possession of the quarter. The Highlanders finally stopped the drive just shy of midfield and set up shop at the Cavs 33 after a punt attempt was muffed.
Glenvar scored two plays later to stretch the lead to 14-0 but the Cavs defense stiffened to stop the 2-point conversion.

Cavs have crossed midfield after a pair of first downs but only 0:20.8 remains in the half.
The Cavs moved down the field on their initial drive in the quarter but came up short after the Highlanders intercepted a pass on their four-yard line.
Following the turnover the home team covered 96 yards on their drive to stretch the lead to 20-0 midway through the third period.
Glenvar has started to pull away with the lead now 32-0. Carroll County continues to show plenty of effort on both sides of the ball but will come up on the short end of the scoreboard tonight.

Carroll County will have one more offensive possession with the hopes of getting on the scoreboard after Glenvar scores a sixth touchdown. The clock ⏰ strikes 0:00 just before 8pm with 40-0 being your final score.
CCHS kept it close until midway through the third quarter and played with plenty of heart but came up short in the end. The same two schools square off tomorrow in Hillsville for the Varsity contest.
Two of the top teams in 3A Volleyball are set to square off for a second time this season when Carroll County (10-0) travels down Interstate 81 to face Marion (10-2).
The Cavaliers took care of business at home with a 3-1 victory over Marion and will look to keep their undefeated season going in tonight’s rematch.

CCHS JV squad needed to work overtime to force a deciding third game against the Scarlet Hurricanes, eventually winning Game 2 by a score of 30-28.
Game 3 is underway now, just before 7pm with the Varsity match to follow.
