Carroll County edges Grayson County in non-district golf match

High school golfers are typically the first of the fall sports to start their season each year to the point that their campaign is normally half over when their classmates are reporting to their first day of school.

Yesterday afternoon at Olde Mill Carroll County Head Coach Kristopher Goad led his ever so young squad into a meet with visiting Grayson County with his Cavaliers prevailing by a total of 393-443.

The weather started out as an issue before the skies finally cleared, allowing CCHS’s Camden Delavan to claim Medalist honors with an 87. Teammate Trace Reavis carded a 93 to finish the day as the second Medalist.

The Cavaliers have two matches remaining on their schedule before the post season begins in early September. The schedule shows them traveling to Glenvar next Monday before returning home to host Pulaski County on September 1st.
