The host school Coastal Carolina University took to court tonight at 4:30 in hopes of matching the 2-0 mark of College of Charleston recorded in this years Christmas 🎄 Classic.
Radford University, which happens to be back in our home neighborhood is the opponent for the two day events Nightcap.
Coastal leads 56-51 at the 3rd quarter Media timeout.
It is hard to imagine that the Adventure of The 12 Games of Christmas 🎄 is coming to a close and there will be much reflecting to do once the Dust settles here in the coming days. The stops have included Salem, Virginia plus Cary, North Carolina and Winston-Salem, NC to name a few.
But let’s not get ahead of ourselves as Radford has trimmed the lead to one at 56-55. So let’s watch some HOOPS !

Coastal Carolina is hosting a two day, four game Christmas 🎄 Tournament on the Women’s side.
The home team is joined by College of Charleston, Florida A & M and Radford University.
Two games were played Saturday afternoon and for Sunday they will swap opponents.
In the gym for the 2pm tipoff of Florida A& M versus C of C (One of our Sons, Christopher, attended school there). Sunday afternoon the week of Christmas 🎄 so there’s plenty of Good Seats available for this one. I am sure the second session will have more folks in the gym. The building is named the HTC Center and is full of CCU colors Teal & Black – very crisp look to it.
Cougars up 41-19 @ The Half
C of C having its way over the Rattlers in the first half. As he has been from his home in Northern Indiana , Rob Sisk is once again in the Co-Pilot chair but I’m not sure there’s enough streaming out there for him to find this one.
My beautiful wife is here with me after joining me last night 🌙. She was smart enough to sit out the Florida Night / Day Doubleheader over the past 2 days.
Straight up digging the Mascot!
Tomorrow afternoon CCU will play the role of host for the Myrtle Beach ⛱ Bowl game between Old Dominion and Tulsa with kickoff set for 2:30pm

After the 88 point shoot out in Orlando ended four yards shy of 95 points I felt pretty safe in thinking there was ZERO chance the Boca Raton Bowl could possibly top it but it actually did by a noticeable amount. I had heard all of the stories about WKU’s stud QB Bailey Zappe but I figured it had to be some fact but also some myth.
I entered the Stadium 🏟 90 minutes prior to kickoff (actually the first fan in) in part so I could see what Zappe (Zap-eee) would do during his pre-game routine. He was not in his uniform yet and was standing on the goal line tossing passes of 30 yards to a lone member of WWKU. The fact that made this noticeable was he was throwing a very tight spiral while standing flat footed.
After a handful of these tosses he backed his partner up ten yards and remained flat footed while zipping more balls with the same perfect spin. Before I could stop guaking at this he moved the young man back to midfield and just continued his little exhibition to the point were I was tempted to yell out ” Now you’re just showing off.”
Before he headed to the lockeroom to actually get his jersey on he pointed downfield and now his receiver was 60 yards away….. Yes, Yes he did but this time he might have turned one of his feet sideways but certainly no bunny hop. I couldn’t wait for the game to get started so I could start the countdown on the 5 TD tosses he needed to pass Joe Burrow’s 60 from just a couple of seasons ago.
Amazingly his first two passes looked like him and I had experienced a Freaky Friday swap out. The first one looked like it squirmed out of his hand. No fear though as Zappe unofficially hit 15 of his next 16 to make the World right again. He needed 288 yards to break the single season yardage mark and he did that before Halftime.
In fact the bomb that broke the mark was as pretty as (fill in the name of your favorite NFL QB) had thrown it!!!
He had four scores by the break and then managed to tack on a fifth for the record breaker and a sixth for good measure. The game was actually much closer than the score would have you believe but ASU couldn’t recover from a pair of Red Zone turnovers.
Congratulations 👏👏👏 on both records and to ASU after the Eers had won their first six bowl games in Years 1-6 after moving up to the FBS!
Lots of Fun and Lots of Sun down here but now its time to head back closer to home for the Final two contests of the Christmas 🎄 12 !!!
When Chase Brice decided he was going to leave his role as backup to Trevor Lawrence at Clemson it was breaking News when he announced his next stop would be Duke. The word came down on Super Bowl 🏈 Sunday a few years back and there was real excitement about Coach Cut getting a Big Time quarterback that already had some gametime experience.
The combination of the Covid Pandemic preventing the normal off-season routine plus the fact that Clemson ‘s offensive line wasn’t part of the deal had Brice looking for a 3rd option for a team.
. Next stop for Brice ended up being in the Mountains ⛰ at Appalachian State. The move payed off with 3,000+ yards passing and a 10 win season and a birth in the Boca Raton Bowl versus Western Kentucky
