Tough spot for the Memphis Tigers πŸ… Football team and Families.

Each year there are few bowl games 🏈 that stick out in my mind that might be harder on folks that others and this year is no exception. The three that come to mind are the Bahamas πŸ‡§πŸ‡Έ Bowl, Hawaii Bowl and Camellia Bowl.

Going to the Bahamas involves passports so it is the one set of bids that get announced a full week earlier than the others. Happy to say that this year’s contest was played without any major issues.

The reason that going to Honolulu makes the Tough List is that the game is played on Christmas πŸŽ„ Eve and it pretty much guarantees that many a family will be apart on Christmas Day πŸŽ„.

Memphis vs Hawaii was called off late yesterday as Hawaii was / is dealing with numerous Covid issues within the program. The announcement was made within 24 hours so there is no alternative plan to get the game played today.

Now Memphis will try and come up with an alternate plan for getting back to Campus in hopes of making the best of the Holidays.

The third of the 3 is the Camellia Bowl πŸ₯£ being played on Christmas πŸŽ„ Day in Montgomery, Alabama. While there’s not the 6 hour flight to get to the game it’s the one actually getting played on Christmas Day. Here’s hoping that both Georgia State and Ball State stay healthy enough to play.

Perfect Time for a πŸ”₯Fireside Chat with Mr. Bill Meade

Bill “Pappy ” Meade has been spreading cheer and goodwill up and down the Shenandoah Valley for the better part of five decades. What makes Pappy unique in his style of writing ✍ is the level of determination he puts into every single feature or gamer that he chooses to take on.

Pappy graduated from William and Mary after high school and then returned to the Valley and started covering Sports as a hobby before taking it to the full-time level. Pappy is what I like to call a throw back to the Father Knows Best days before Social media took over and changed the way we look at and cover sports, possibly forever.

Now that he is semi-retired he’s a bit more selective in the amount of work he takes on but Thankfully he still searches for the Good that is out there!

There was no better way to step back after a whirlwind adventure like the 12 Games of Christmas πŸŽ„ then to travel back in time to the simpler Days when Sports were just a fun outlet versus the modern day version of $how me the Money πŸ’°.

Some things never change and in the case of Pappy Meade, we are all fortunate for that!

Christmas πŸŽ„ time is coming ! Find a way to spread some Holiday Joy

The adventure is now in the rear view mirror and it’s time to enjoy the mental rewind of it all!

The Myrtle Beach β›± Bowl πŸ₯£ is one of the latest bowls to be added to the mix and today it has Old Dominion University facing the Tulsa Golden Hurricane πŸŒ€. Both teams finished the regular season at 6-6 so a victory is a Win – Win in that you get the Trophy πŸ† and the winning season!

. ODU wasted no time getting on the scoreboardas the Monarchs returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown and then Tulsa answered before the first two minutes were off the clock.

Rob Sisk is once again manning the studio back in northern Indiana and he just informed us that Ryan McGee and Marty Smith are working the sidelines here today!

Tulsa has just scored the third TD of the first quarter with just under five minutes left on the clock ⏰.

3:15 pm – End of the 1st Quarter – Tulsa 14-7
