Waynesboro Generals offense wakes up and then some !Win 16-8

WAYNESBORO  820…010…500-16/15/1

ROCKBRIDGE   010….006…010-8/12/6

9:12PM – Top 5TH and still up 10-1
9:19PM – Lead now 11-1
9:55PM – Rockbridge has cut the lead to 5! 11-6.

After waiting out a lengthy delay the Generals plated 8 runs in the first inning down in Lexington vs. Rockbridge. We  added a 2-run blast to make the score 10-0 in the top of the second inning.

The offensive outburst came at a good time after Waynesboro plated just 1 run in each of the last two games! Bottom of the third- Generals 10, Rapids 1

Thank You to all that sent their thoughts and prayers to our family the past 72 hours…

While we were waiting to find out whether or not we were going to get to host our home opener last Friday the phone rang with news from Knoxville, Tennessee that my Mother has passed away. Mom had been ill for a while and we knew the time was near, just not that close.

Earlier today, on what would of been her 74TH Birthday, we held the Funeral services in the Cumberland Gap portion of Tennessee. The amount of folks that checked in and passed on their well wishes truely touched me and my family and for this I am incredibly grateful. With this is mind I wanted to share a few pics of the family with those who took the time to check on us over the past few days.

We did a number of speeches and held meetings throughout the off season and we tossed out a number of ideas early on. One of those ideas was to walk from one park to another on one of the nights that Staunton played Waynesboro. The hope was to try and draw attention to our ball club and how close it was between the two parks. All of the ideas we had talked about have been put in to place except two, one being the walk and the second being John creating a Waynesboro Generals Hall of Fame.

This Friday (June 12TH) I will be able to scratch my part of the left-to-do-list off when I make the trek down US-250 from John Moxie Stadium over to Fishburne Military School Park. The walk for me will now be the Bea Carter Memorial Walk.

Thanks again for all the Kind words!
